Dead Zebra celebrates China National Day with special Android collectible
Today, China and Hong Kong are celebrating their national holiday. To add a little Android to China National Day, Andrew Bell has created a special, limited edition Android collectible. The mini figurine features the Chinese national flag colors and iconography along with packaging that commemorates their advancements in their space programs. Originally intended for Dead Zebra’s partners in China and Hong Kong, Dead Zebra has decided to sell them via their online store so that a lucky few can enjoy these collectibles as well.
They will be available later this evening in the Dead Zebra Inc shop starting 11pm EDT. Please note quantities are very limited and orders are limited to one Android collectible per household. If you’re on the fence about getting one, these things tend to sell out fairly quickly, you shouldn’t wait. Good luck!

ASUS-made Nexus 10 leaks again, official announcement looks imminent
Samsung Nexus 10 (2012)
Like the Nexus 7 before it, we’ve been expecting a refresh of the Google Nexus 10 for awhile. We’ve been hearing rumors of Google going with ASUS for the next Nexus 10 since back to August, but it wasn’t until we spotted the device in a PC World computer system that we had something a little more concrete. The 10-inch tab had a list price of £350 in the UK, and unfortunately, a release date wasn’t provided.
Today @evleaks is confirming those rumors of an ASUS-built Nexus 10, showing off yet another screen shot from an unnamed store computer system listing the “Google Asus Nexus 10″. Other than that, little details were given (we were hoping for a list price). It’s expected that Google will unveil the new Nexus 10 during the same event as the soon-to-be-announced Nexus 5.
Current rumors are pointing to an October 14th reveal, but as the clock ticks down (press invites have yet to be sent out), we’re thinking it could be a few weeks later than that.
Hands-on: Themer by MyColorScreen, now available on Google Play [VIDEO]
We’ve been keeping an eye on MyColorScreen’s Themer app ever since it was announced early last month. Today, Themer has finally hit the Play Store and while it’s only accessible for those that have beta invite codes, will allow (some) of you to change the look of your phone as easily as you change outfits.
Similarities can be made to homescreen replacements like Buzz Launcher and yes, Themer behaves much in the same way. The Themer app will actually become your default homescreen, so it doesn’t apply themes to Nova, Apex or other homescreen replacements. If you feel like giving up some of the functionality in those great launchers, you’ll find Themer offers a much more robust, user friendly way of sprucing up your boring Android device with little fuss.
Upon opening the launcher, you’ll be presented with a very basic theme featuring large tutorial widgets. Clicking on any of the icons in what would normally be the dock allows you to select the appropriate app to launch. You can’t really customize the launcher by hand. Placing widgets or shorcuts results in very tiny icons that kill the entire theme, making it a better idea to stick with themes available in the “Browse Themes” section.
For more, check out our hands-on video below. We walk you through the app, and show off a few of the totally insane themes. Anyone else get their beta code yet?
