We want to know what games you're playing!

Updated April 8: This weekend, choose your own adventure! Will you be the King in the beautiful Kingdom: New Lands, or save the King in the addictingly simple Knightmare Tower? Why not both!

What games are you playing on your Android phones or tablets? We want to know!

We've started a thread in the AC Forums as a place to share your opinions on games you think more people should be playing. Look out for posts by me (Marc Lagace) and say hello! You can also comment below!

Kingdom: New Lands

One of the core intentions of this weekly post is to share the great games available on the Google Play Store that, for whatever reason, don't get the same front page promotion as other titles.

Sure, Google has been doing a pretty good job lately showing support for indie game developers, but there's always bound to be some great games that just don't get the push that they deserve.

Kingdom: New Lands is just one of those games. Shared with us by Pirate Arr, this side-scrolling simulation game, developed by Noio, is a true work of art.

You play as the King or Queen of an emerging kingdom. Riding atop your trusty steed, you must strategically spend the money earned by your citizens to upgrade your kingdom's defenses, attract nearby wanderers to join your kingdom, and eventually discover ways to venture off and explore new lands.

Originally released on Steam, this game plays like a dream on mobile. You swipe and hold the screen to set your horse off in either direction and interact with structures and villagers by tapping. Once you've spent a bit of time figuring out the game's quirks, you'll be hooked. I mean, just look how beautiful this game is… But don't get too distracted by the pretty reflections in the water, or else you'll find your kingdom suddenly overrun by violent raiders — and if your King loses his crown, it's game over.

Games of this quality really do deserve more attention for offering Android gamers great content like this. This is a paid game, of course, but if you appreciate really beautiful game design you'll love Kingdom: New Lands.

Knightmare Tower

If you're looking for a more casual game that's perfect for playing in quick burst throughout the day, check out Knightmare Tower.

Recommended by dustinman in the comments, this game was developed by the same folks behind Burrito Bison which was previously featured in this space. In Knightmare Tower, you play a knight on a mission to save the King and his 10 princess daughters who have been kidnapped and locked in a tower.

Dustinman praised the game for its controls, which are perfectly suited for mobile: you tilt your phone left or right to move your knight, then tap to attack downward and slice enemies. You need to be careful with your attacks, because if you miss one too many times a wave of lava will rise up from below and engulf you.

Much like Burrito Bison, Knightmare Tower features addictingly simple gameplay that will have you hooked. Can make it to the top of the tower, defeat the boss, and save all the princesses? If you're looking for a game to kill some time this weekend and don't want to spend a dime, check out Knightmare Tower.
