ASUS Padfone X Mini heads to AT&T prepaid on October 24th
Fans of ASUS’ interesting Padfone lineup may be excited to learn that one of the latest affordable entries in the line will be headed to AT&T here in the United States. The carrier has announced availability of the ASUS Padfone X Mini, giving us an October 24th launch date for their prepaid arm GoPhone. The device will run you just $199.99 without contract, and that’ll afford you a 4.5-inch phone that can be docked into a 7-inch tablet form factor whenever you need to transition to the big screen.
For $200 you obviously shouldn’t expect the world in terms of specs, but we know it’ll feature an Intel Atom processor, a 5 megapixel camera and 15 hours of battery life for phone mode vs 28 hours of life while docked into the tablet. Unfortunately AT&T didn’t go into grave detail about its specs, but we’ll be digging for that information and will look to share it with you as it comes in. This obviously won’t appease the needs of everyone but it could be a very nice compromise for folks who don’t want to spend too much for both a phone and a tablet.
