Watch your favorite tech leaders get drenched in the #IceBucketChallenge [GIFS]
The Ice Bucket Challenge has only been around for a couple of weeks, but the tech world is already wet and cold. The challenge was created at the end of July by Pete Frates in attempt to raise money and awareness for ALS. It’s a very simple idea that has taken the world by storm. First, someone will be challenged to dump a bucket of ice water on themselves within 24 hours, or donate $100 to the ALS Association. Once they complete the challenge they can then nominate other people to do it, and the cycle continues.
Everyone from Martha Stewart to Aaron Rodgers has participated in the challenge, including a growing amount of tech leaders. So far the ALS Association has raised over $4 million in just a couple short weeks. We love a good cause, especially when it results in some of our favorite tech leaders getting soaking wet. We’ve compiled some .gifs from some of our favorites. Enjoy!
Larry Page & Sergey Brin, Google co-founders
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO
Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO
John Legere, T-Mobile CEO
Reed Hastings, Netflix CEO
Dick Costello, Twitter CEO
and we’ve saved the best for last…
Tim Cook, Apple CEO

Sprint posts HTC One E8 video ahead of formal announcement
Sprint may not have an official press release issued just yet, but the Now Network is making clear their plans to offer the HTC One E8 on their network. The carrier just published a new video to their YouTube account showcasing the upcoming HTC One E8. The video doesn’t reveal a launch date or anything like that. It’s more of a product overview showing off the curves of the device and basic features.
The HTC One E8 is much like an economy version of the HTC One M8 flagship, only it ditches the aluminum frame and Duo Camera for plastic and something with a little more MP. For those in need of a refresher, other specs include a 5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP/5MP cameras, a 2,600mAh battery and of course, HTC’s trademark BoomSound stereo front facing speakers.
Again, no word on pricing or availability but we expect that the E8′s slightly less premium build materials will result in a lower price tag. We’ll keep you posted.
